Together with him, I also wish to thank all the Presidents who came before me, each of whom, through their intelligence and vision, honored AICPE and continually raised the bar of knowledge, expertise, and authority of our Society, both nationally and internationally.
Today more than ever, our mission is not simply to operate.
It is to educate. To inspire. To preserve the value of aesthetic surgery and of Beauty itself.
In leading AICPE today, I want to begin with three key words that I consider fundamental: Tradition. Modernity. Innovation.
These are not merely three words.
They represent the three pillars upon which AICPE stands, three pillars that also point toward a direction — the direction AICPE is called to define and lead on major issues such as the regulatory framework governing our discipline, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the growing phenomenon of medical tourism, which concerns us as surgeons, our patients — the most vulnerable link in the chain — and the National Health Service, which is increasingly called upon to manage complications and provide care.
These are issues that must now be addressed decisively.
Tradition
Because there can be no future without memory.
AICPE was founded in September 2011 from a powerful, courageous, and necessary vision.
And it has grown thanks to the foresight of those who came before me.
To them goes my sincerest gratitude, because they built a solid home.
And today, it is our duty to inhabit it, preserve it, and help it evolve.
Modernity
We live in a fast-moving, fluid, and at times disorienting era.
An era in which aesthetic surgery risks being simplified, trivialized, standardized — and sometimes even disrespected.
And so our mission is clear: not to follow trends blindly, but to interpret them, guide them, and, when necessary, challenge them.
Because we do not sell images.
We do not sell magical filters.
We safeguard our identity.
Innovation
The future is not something we wait for.
It is something we build.
And we build it through what truly defines a scientific society: education, culture, and vision.
EDUCATION: the beating heart of AICPE
In recent years, we have brought to life something extraordinary.
The AICPE Educational Project, with its five national and international thematic courses, was created with the goal of providing continuous updates on the key topics in aesthetic surgery while strengthening the professional network among colleagues.
The Second-Level University Master’s Degree in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery developed together with LINK University, the Advanced Anatomy Lab beginning next June in Palermo, and our National Congress, which embodies the deepest meaning and essence of AICPE itself.
These are not simply projects.
They are proof that AICPE is not merely a society that represents — it is a society that educates.
And it seeks to educate differently.
Because there are schools that teach.
And then there are schools that inspire.
AICPE must become that place: the place where surgeons are trained… and visions are ignited.
INTERNATIONALIZATION
AICPE must become an increasingly international society.
Open to dialogue, exchange, and growth.
Internationalization will be one of the central goals of my presidency: building strong relationships with the leading European and international scientific societies in order to share and affirm our identity.
Because Italian aesthetic plastic surgery possesses a history, a culture, and a sensitivity unlike any other.
A balance between art and science that the entire world recognizes and admires.
And this is already becoming reality… thanks to the work of many of you, who every day bring the value of our expertise — the Made in Italy of aesthetic surgery — to the world.
ETHICS AND COMMUNICATION
Alongside education, we bear an even greater responsibility:
the responsibility of accurate information.
We live in a time in which aesthetic surgery is too often portrayed through filters, simplifications, and commercial logic.
Today more than ever, it is urgent to build a public narrative that is clear, ethical, and grounded in authentic values.
We must oppose the standardization and consumerism of image culture, and restore aesthetic plastic surgery to its deepest essence:
not an artificial construct, but a medical act — human, meaningful, profoundly tied to identity.
Because AICPE is not merely a name.
AICPE is everything that each of us represents.
Every day, in the operating room… and in life.
Thank you to those who believed in me.
And thank you to all of you for representing AICPE in Italy and throughout the world.
